049: Troy Ogilvie, Dancer, Teacher, Choreographer, Director

“I like bliss because it’s more radical than joy.”

Welcome to Notes on Doing, conversations with people who love what they do.

I’m Jenna Matecki.

Our next episode goes to Troy Ogilvie. Troy is a dancer, teacher, choreographer, and director. She’s danced for and collaborated with so many amazing, incredibly talented people. To name a few things that she’s up to – she’s a Creative Director for The McKittrick Hotel’s Super Cinema parties, and is currently dancing solos by Margie Gillis and Itzik Galili. In the past she’s performed with the LA Philharmonic and The Metropolitan Opera, and starred as Lady Macbeth in Punchdrunk’s Sleep No More.

Listen to what Troy had to say about a certain 9-year-old who wanted to dance at parties, discovering things instead of finding things, play, and curiosity.

Also, psssst. Mark your calendars. The next Notes on Doing meetup will be next Thursday, October 13th, at 7pm in Brooklyn, New York at FREEHOLD. Come hang out with the people featured in NOD, other fans of the show, and yours truly. I couldn’t be more excited to see you all.

All right, plug over, here’s Troy Ogilvie –
